Top bloke. Knows his business and knows the tricks that the manufacturers use, and how to avoid them. Genuine 1990s prices and knowledge. You don't get customer service like this any more.
I called to ask if they had a replacement key shell for a 2012 Hyundai. I explained clearly that my key still works perfectly and I only needed the outer plastic casing replaced - no cutting, no programming. He immediately quoted me over $200. I repeated that the key itself was fine and it was literally just the shell I needed. He insisted he’d “have to” re‑cut the key and attach it to the new casing, which is why the price was so high. I explained again that this wasn’t necessary to which he said “Nup” and hung up on me. I understand he’s the professional but the lack of basic professionalism, patience, or willingness to explain anything further wasn’t necessary - especially when this isn’t something I deal with often. A simple “Sorry, we don’t offer shell‑only replacements for that model” would’ve been enough. For context: the exact shell I need - even in good‑quality options - is no more than $30 at the highest price online. I fully expect to pay more for an in‑store service, but quoting over $200 and pushing the upsell made the whole interaction feel like a scam. UPDATE: In response to the owner’s comment: Beyond the overpriced quote, your attitude was the real problem. I explained my situation clearly and explicitly yet you immediately dismissed my concerns and then hung up on me. Multiple other locksmiths understood exactly what I needed without any difficulty. The highest quote I received was $40. Your $200+ quote and refusal to even engage properly with what I was asking shows a severe lack of professionalism and poor form. By looking at your other reviews, this isn’t an isolated incident. Multiple people have called out the exact same lack of professionalism and poor customer service. I genuinely don’t understand why you’d choose to be this way instead of just being helpful. If you treated customers with basic respect and took time to explain things, you’d likely get fewer bad reviews and more business. A touch of common sense and some basic general manners always goes a long way!
Great locksmith, with many years of experience Darryl really knows his trade. Honest, professional and well priced.
Darrell is friendly informat I vfe and has a well stocked business@
Great service. Prompt, friendly, honest and knowledge. Left with 2 new programmed keys for my aged car and a smile! Would recommend.
My remote car key was not working as well as before and the casing was breaking apart. Luckily, Darryl managed to configure another new remote car key after many attempts, as I had an old model of Hyundai Elantra. It would be difficult to find another spare remote key and it would be costly elsewhere. Thank you so much Darryl and lovely to meet little Harry too. ✌️😊
Broke my key off inside my bike lock. Brought it here and the guy looked at it and told me it was impossible to get it out. He didn't even try. Brought it to Hilton Locksmiths and they said it's easy. 5 minutes and they had it out so I'd go to them before this place.
