Northside Car Keys

Northside Car Keys is an automotive locksmith based in Herston with 391 reviews and a 4.9 rating. Many reviewers describe technicians arriving with the correct equipment and completing transponder key and remote programming jobs efficiently and at a fair, upfront price.

Several customers specifically praise the thoroughness of the initial phone consultation, noting that vehicle details are checked before a quote is given. That said, at least one review raised concerns about poor phone communication, including long hold times and being contacted by text rather than a call back.

When it comes to automotive locksmiths, it's worth remembering that you often get what you pay for. There are plenty of scammers out there who advertise low prices, only to add hidden costs once they arrive or discover they don't have the right equipment to do the job. Before booking anyone, ask a few important questions. Is the technician travelling in a fully equipped service vehicle with the correct tools for your make and model? Are they happy to provide their locksmith licence number? A legitimate professional shouldn't have any issue answering these questions unfortunately I was victim to this and it was from a google search. The diligence shown during your first phone call is also a good indicator of whether you're dealing with a reputable business. A genuine automotive locksmith should ask for details about your vehicle, such as the make, model, year, and the type of key you need. If you're simply given a flat quote without being asked any questions about the vehicle, tread with caution—it can be a sign that extra charges are coming later or that the technician isn't properly prepared. My experience with Northside Car Keys was exactly what you'd hope for. They were professional from the first call, asked all the right questions, arrived with the correct equipment, and completed the job exactly as quoted. There were no hidden fees, no surprises, and no questionable tactics—just honest, reliable service at a very fair price. I can confidently say Northside Car Keys is a 100% legitimate, reliable, and cost-effective business. If you're looking for an automotive locksmith you can trust, I'd highly recommend them.

Toby is awesome 🤩 he did the job perfectly and I am very impressed with skill set; next time I need backup keys, I am calling you guys and recommending you too to my friends.

Tried to call for a quote. Was put on hold for several minutes until it went to an answering machine “beep” with no explanation. After hanging up the staff kept texting me because they couldn’t be bothered doing the courteous thing by calling me back. After I called them out on this I got a call. When I answered the phone there was silence on the other end. Then they started texting me again. The lack of professionalism is so appalling. Took my business elsewhere.

Fast and friendly service! I called up about a new battery and casing for my car's fob, drove there 15 mins later and they had me sorted immediately. Cheers

I don’t normally have time for reviews, but I’ve made time for the Northside Car Keys team. Most businesses today are pretty average so you don’t tend to expect much in the way of customer service. Not the case with North Car Keys. I was pleasantly surprised. They fitted me straight in. I turned up. Very friendly. No fuss. Offered me a coffee while I waited in their exceptionally clean and modern waiting area with a couch and TV. Took about fifteen minutes. Job done and I was on my way. And very affordable compared to some other quotes I had obtained. Can’t say enough. Great service. Thank you.

Awesome service, thanks for coming out to replace my work van keys so quickly at Beachmere today. Very nice guy and efficient job, he even jump started my car coz the battery went flat and then the engine light came on afterwards and he was happy to check and reset it. Much appreciated 👏
